Testimonial

It was an honour to be a part of the team that made the building of the Dragonfly Splash Park a reality for our community.   The choice to build a Splash Park met many of our local priorities around promoting physical activity, creating safe outdoor play environments for young children and promoting the community as a whole as family-centred.  The splash park has become a wonderful, fun place and its play value has exceeded my expectations from the first day it opened.

Village hopes water park will help attract young families

After over three years of fundraising, bit-by-bit, the Village of Chase in B.C.’s Interior is finally getting a splash pad.

The new facility is an attempt by locals to attract more young people and families to the community at the western end of the Shuswap region.

Fundraising leader Beverly Iglesias says that’s needed so “the community continues to live and thrive.”Water Park in Chase

Chase doesn’t offer enough services and amenities for young people which becomes problematic for the seniors in the village, said Iglesias, adding she’s nearing senior-status.

“Who is going to take care of us?” she said.

The equipment is being manufactured by Kelowna’s own Waterplay Solutions and supplied by RecTec Industries.  Construction begins May 1st.
