- Money Available for School Playgrounds in BC -

May 24th - the BC government announced that they will be providing $4-million to elementary and middle schools to replace outdated playground equipment, through the ActNow BC initiative. The funds will be distributed through the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils, and it is up to them at this time how the money will be distributed and what the criteria will be. - Revised CSA now Available -

The fourth edition of the CSA-Z614 Children's Playspaces and Equipment standard was released this May. The new guidelines include an annex outlining how to design play spaces to be more inclusive for children with disabilities. Though the CSA guidelines are not mandatory it is almost always a requirement for licensed daycares, public parks and public schools. For further information check out: www.csa.ca/news
