Now
that the weather is turning cold, don't forget to Winterize your
outdoor Waterplay spray park. Winterizing is essential prevent
damage to your manifold, components and supply line.
- Depending
on where you are located (and how much snow is expected) you
may need to remove flower tops, graphics and swivel panels
- Drain each
individual supply line of water
- Manifold
should be drained (unless in a heated environment)
- " Ground
spray component nozzles should be removed and replaced with
blanks
If you require
more detailed instructions please refer to your Waterplay Owners
Manual or contact RecTec.

Dec
3 - International Day of Disabled Persons
In
1992 the United Nations declared December 3rd as the International
Day of Disabled Persons; to celebrate and acknowledge the experience
and capabilities of people with disabilities.
RecTec recognizes
children and parents with disability issues when designing playgrounds.
We believe that large and pricey ramps and boring tic-tac-toe
panels are not the only way to offer opportunities for a disabled
child. Transfer stations, inclusive ground play areas and upper
body activities offer a more challenging and fun play experience.
The addition
of "Annex J - Accessible Children's Playspaces and Equipment"
as part of the new CSA Standards for Children's Playspaces, to
be released in January of 2007, demonstrates the need to design
for inclusion.

FUNdraiser
of the Month
$5.00
to tape up your principal! Convince a principal or staff member
to get taped up to the gym wall, charge staff and children $5.00
per each foot of tape. Start off by getting the 'tape-e' to stand
on a chair then start the taping, if after all the purchased pieces
of tape are stuck, the chair is removed and if they stay up on
the wall - it was a success, if not - more tape is needed!
