It was an honour to be a part of the team that made the building of the Dragonfly Splash Park a reality for our community.   The choice to build a Splash Park met many of our local priorities around promoting physical activity, creating safe outdoor play environments for young children and promoting the community as a whole as family-centred.  The splash park has become a wonderful, fun place and its play value has exceeded my expectations from the first day it opened.

The Play and Playground Magazine has some fundraising tips.

While bake sales and bottle drives might still be important ways to raise funds for a new playground, spray park or sports court, the Playground Pros magazine has identified new and innovative fundraising ideas that people need to consider.

Option #1: Online Fundraising – Crowdfunding is a popular way to get the community on board and supporting a new play space.

Option #2: Contract Purchasing – A supply arrangement allows communities to purchase products at reduced prices. 

Option #3: Leasing – When you can’t come up with all the funds, perhaps leasing is an option?
